setup prompt
Set up Adwarp for me. It's the open-source ad agent for LinkedIn Ads and Google Ads: https://github.com/adwarp-dev/adwarp

1. Check that Node.js 20 or newer is installed.
2. Walk me through creating my own LinkedIn developer app with the Advertising API product: https://github.com/adwarp-dev/adwarp/blob/main/docs/linkedin-app.md
3. Save the app's client ID and secret to ~/.adwarp/config.json as clientId and clientSecret.
4. Run "npx -y adwarp auth login" and wait while I approve access in my browser.
5. Add Adwarp to the AI client I'm using right now as an MCP server that runs "npx -y adwarp mcp". In Claude Code that's: claude mcp add adwarp -- npx -y adwarp mcp
6. Check the connection by listing my ad accounts, then save the one I pick as defaultAccountId in ~/.adwarp/config.json.

Don't create or change anything in my ad accounts during setup. LinkedIn campaigns start as drafts, so nothing spends until I turn it on.

Google Ads keyword research from your terminal.

Adwarp is an open-source MCP server and CLI that asks Google Ads for keyword ideas around your seed terms or a landing page. Each idea comes back with monthly searches, competition and the top-of-page bid range, before any budget is committed.

$ claude mcp add adwarp -- npx -y adwarp mcp

> Find keyword ideas from example.com/product.

adwarp.gads_keyword_ideas page example.com/product: 50 ideas

What you can ask. Real requests, answered from your terminal.

$ claude

> What do people search for around lead routing?

adwarp.gads_keyword_ideas "lead routing", US, en: 50 ideas

Monthly searches, competition and top-of-page bid range for each, highest volume first

02How it works

How it works.

  1. Seed it

Give a few seed terms, a landing page, or both. The country is the US and the language English unless you name others.

  2. Read the numbers

Each idea comes back with monthly searches, competition and the low and high top-of-page bid, highest volume first.

  3. Build from it

Pick the keywords, set match types and negatives, and the same session drafts the Search campaign brief.

03Results

Why it gets better results.

  • Sized before you spend

Volume and bid ranges come back before a campaign exists, the way an audience estimate works on LinkedIn.

  • Bids checked against your budget

Top-of-page ranges show which keywords your max CPC can reach before you launch.

  • Research and build in 1 session

The keywords you size are the ones that go into the brief, with no export in between.

04FAQ

Questions, answered. From setup to the details.

Ask on GitHub
What access does keyword research need?

Basic access on your Google Ads developer token. Explorer access, which most tokens start with, blocks Google's keyword planning service, so apply for Basic on the same API Center screen. Campaigns and reporting work on Explorer.

Where do the numbers come from?

From Google Ads. Monthly searches are Google's rounded estimates rather than exact counts, and bid ranges are in your ad account's currency.

Can it research from a landing page?

Yes. Pass a page with or without seed terms, and Google suggests keywords from what the page says.

Which countries and languages can I research?

Any country code, several at once, and 1 language per request, so run it again for another language. It uses the US and English when you leave them out.

Does it work on the hosted endpoint?

No. The Google tools run on your machine, through the local MCP server or the CLI, with your own developer token and OAuth client.

What does each keyword idea include?

Its text, Google's estimate of monthly searches, a competition band and index, and the top-of-page bid range.

What does each keyword idea include?
FieldMeaning
KeywordThe idea's text, from your seeds or the page.
Monthly searchesGoogle's rounded estimate of average monthly searches, not an exact count.
CompetitionLOW, MEDIUM or HIGH, or UNSPECIFIED when Google has too little data.
Competition index0 to 100, finer than the band.
Top-of-page bidThe low and high range, in the ad account's currency.
Which inputs does a search take?

Seed terms or a landing page, plus the countries, a language and how many ideas to return.
